Darko Jorgić setup:
Forehand: Hybrid K3 Pro
Backhand: INFINITY MX-P
Blade: Dynamic JC

The Infinity MX-P was not created to replace the Evolution MX-P. That would have been impossible. The original MX-P became one of the defining offensive rubbers of the plastic ball era because of its direct speed, dangerous arc, and brutal power during open rallies.
The Infinity MX-P takes that offensive philosophy and refines it for modern high-level table tennis.
The first thing noticeable during play is the topsheet behavior. The new PRO TRACTION topsheet grips the ball more deeply compared to the classic MX-P. The contact feels longer, more connected, and more controlled during heavy topspin exchanges. The ball stays on the racket fractionally longer, creating more confidence during aggressive acceleration.
The combination of RED POWER SPONGE and RED ENERGY SPONGE changes the character of the rubber significantly. The sponge still feels explosive, but the energy release is more progressive and less chaotic than older-generation tensors. This matters especially during counter-topspin play, where stability becomes more important than raw speed alone.
Against backspin, the Infinity MX-P produces extremely dangerous opening loops. The spin potential is very high, but unlike many hard offensive rubbers, the trajectory remains relatively safe over the net. Players can accelerate aggressively without constantly feeling on the limit.
Counter-topspin is where the rubber truly separates itself from mid-level offensive tensors. The topsheet maintains excellent grip under pressure, while the sponge absorbs incoming energy efficiently before releasing forward acceleration. The result is a heavy, penetrating ball with strong directional precision.
The short game is surprisingly controlled for a 50° offensive rubber. The contact feeling remains compact, pushes stay low, and short receives feel cleaner than many hyper-bouncy modern tensors. However, the rubber still punishes hesitation. Passive hands produce passive balls.
Blocking quality depends heavily on intent. Passive blocks are stable enough, but the rubber clearly favors active blocking and forward-pressure play. Punch blocks and active counters feel compact and dangerous.
From mid distance, the Infinity MX-P becomes extremely effective. The sponge stores enough energy to maintain penetration even several meters behind the table. The arc remains controlled while the topspin quality stays heavy and dangerous.
The limitations are clear. This is not a forgiving rubber for developing players. The sponge demands acceleration, proper timing, and strong body engagement. Flat contact and lazy mechanics reduce quality immediately.
Performance
Counter Topspin
One of the strongest areas of the Infinity MX-P. The topsheet grip and sponge stability create exceptional confidence during fast topspin exchanges. The ball quality remains heavy even under pressure.
Serve
Very high spin generation with excellent bite on the ball. Side-spin serves and half-long variations become particularly dangerous because of the topsheet grip.
Short Game
More controlled than many modern offensive tensors. Short pushes and receives stay compact, although passive touch play still requires precision.
Blocking
Excellent during active blocking and punch counters. Passive blocking is stable but less effective than active pressure play.
Mid Distance Play
Outstanding from mid distance. The sponge stores and releases energy efficiently, allowing strong penetration and heavy topspin several meters behind the table.
Who Is This For?
- Advanced offensive players
- High-level topspin attackers
- Players relying heavily on counter-topspin
- Athletes using aggressive forehand pressure
- Offensive players wanting more control than classic MX-P generation rubbers
- Competitive players playing fast modern plastic-ball table tennis
Not suitable for:
- beginners,
- passive blockers,
- players searching for soft feeling or automatic control.
Why Choose This
- Higher spin stability than classic MX-P
- More controlled topsheet behavior during fast rallies
- Better ball contact feeling than many modern tensors
- Dangerous opening quality against backspin
- Excellent counter-topspin performance
- Strong balance between speed, grip, and control
Real limitations:
- Demands physical acceleration
- Less forgiving than medium-soft tensors
- Requires clean timing
- Passive play reduces the rubber’s effectiveness significantly
Recommended Rubber Pairings
Tibhar Hybrid MK FX
Excellent backhand pairing for players wanting softer feeling and easier opening play while maintaining offensive quality on the forehand.
Tibhar Evolution EL-S
Creates a very balanced offensive setup with more elasticity and safety on the backhand side during high-speed exchanges.
Butterfly Dignics 09C
For physically strong players wanting maximum spin pressure and elite topspin quality on both sides.
FAQ
Is the Infinity MX-P faster than the original MX-P?
Not necessarily faster in pure speed, but more stable and more efficient during high-level topspin exchanges.
Does the rubber feel harder than the classic MX-P?
The sponge is firm at 50°, but the topsheet creates a more connected and controlled feeling during contact.
Is it suitable for backhand?
Advanced players can use it effectively on the backhand, but the rubber is naturally more comfortable on the forehand.
Does it require strong physical engagement?
Yes. The rubber performs best with full acceleration and active body mechanics.
How does it compare to hybrid rubbers?
The Infinity MX-P feels more dynamic and direct than most hybrids while maintaining strong grip and spin stability.
Coach Opinion
The Infinity MX-P feels like the modern evolution that many high-level offensive players were waiting for after the original MX-P generation.
The biggest improvement is not raw speed. It is control under pressure. The rubber remains dangerous when the rally accelerates instead of becoming unstable and unpredictable.
The topsheet grip creates confidence during aggressive topspin play, especially against heavy incoming spin. The ball quality stays compact and heavy even during difficult counter situations.
This is not a comfort rubber. Players with passive mechanics will struggle with it. But for aggressive offensive players who play through acceleration and pressure, the Infinity MX-P offers one of the best balances currently available between spin, power, and stability.
